Fashion: Hey Shorty

Hey Shorty!

Fashion // One Teaspoon

I have been a personal fan of One Teaspoon for years! When I opened Bowtique in 2013, it was one of those brands I couldn't wait to launch in Ireland and introduce to Irish girls for the first time. The first delivery arrived, sold out by the end of the day!!! Why? One simple answer, THE FIT!! Seriously if you buy one pair you won't ever buy another denim shorts brand and they will last you years!!

One Teaspoon are renowned for the infamous distressed denim. Founded by Jamie Blakey in her apartment, Jamie gathered together her small budget designed and made her first collection. Hard work certainly paid off as 42 stores picked up the line from the first collection! Having grown so rapidly, One Teaspoon now boasts one of the best unique denim ranges available! 2015 marks their One Teaspoon's anniversary and what a fantastic journey they have had in such a tough industry!! Congrats Guys!

Summer is just around the corner and if the last few seasons are to go by be sure to grab a pair quick before they are gone! Celebrities spotted in the brand (regularly) include Alessandra Ambrosio, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian, Vanessa Hudgens to name a few!!!!

The Fit:

All shorts feature a back leg panel scoops down at mid back thigh. Meaning even if the shorts are very short style  this panel covers all the right bits ;) and also adds some length!

All One Teaspoon shorts are cut high at the sides (as stated above they have a back leg panel) This gives the illusion of longer legs.....WINNER!

Various waist lengths available but One Teaspoon recommend to wear all styles 'Drop Waist'.

How to measure:

Drop Waist:

This is the most important part of your body when purchasing a low-slung short or Jean. With nothing on, wrap the tape around exactly wear you like your jeans or shorts to sit. Don’t pull tight. Just measure to how you like them to feel. From here you can determine what size low-slung jean or short you need to buy. See the Size Chart below. Then it’s just a matter of knowing if you want to buy a relaxed fit short or slouchy jean

Waist:

The waist will only be needed if you’re purchasing a high waist style. To measure correctly stand straight and wrap the tape around the narrowest part of your waist. Be firm about it. Most of our High Waist styles are on the actual waist not below.

Hips:

If you’re purchasing a low waist jean or short this measurement won’t be relevant to you. You need only measure your ‘drop waist’ as above. You will only need the Hip measurement if you’re considering one of the skinny fits. Stand with your feet together. No bum clenching and keep the tape firm and parallel to the floor. Make sure the tape is at your fullest part. Don’t worry it’s never as bad as what you think!

With so many short styles available, Ive narrowed it down to the best sellers to make your selection that little bit easier!

Number 1: Bandits

Fashion: Shine On!

Shimmer & Shine!

As we step into Spring now is the perfect time to add a touch of sparkle to your day time look. A bit of sparkle just makes every girl feel spectacular so why not bring that feeling into our busy days! Not just for Clubbing and Christmas, sequins are shining in a whole new light as they become a regular at Fashion weeks around the globe! This post takes a look at How to wear sequins during the day with an easy breezy feel!

My top 3 Tips!

1. One piece only!
This look needs to look relaxed to be day time appropriate! The best pieces for day time and easiest to work with: Sequin tops, skirts, blazer and accessories. Pick your key piece and work your outfit around it.

2. Mix with Textures!
Tone down sequins with contrasting fabrics like Denim, Wool, Cotton, Faux Fur, Leather and Silk. For example, If you go for a sequin skirt team with a plain cotton white tee or if you go for a sequin top dress it down with some cool ripped denim and cosy wool!

3. Neutral Sequins!
Stick to muted tones and neutrals when picking your sequins, think Nude, Cream, Silver, Greys or even dusty pinks. These colours will make it easier for you to play with this look and give you more than just one outfit option! By staying with a muted colour palette it allows for the clashing of prints & textures!  Don't be afraid to play with this look, Think opposites attract and have fun!

Here's some outfit inspiration for you all. Will you try this look? Which key piece are you going to work with? Any questions just ask!

Love & Bows,

TOP 5 TIPS TO CREATE THE PERFECT OFFICE SPACE

New Space, New You!

This week our brand new office is undergoing a full make over! Over last few weeks in seek of office inspo, I spend hours rambling Pinterest, reading interior blogs and pulling tears from magazines. I found so much I  had to do a quick post for you all and share what I came across!

With so many people now working from home or working on extra projects on top of full time work, Office spaces at home have become extremely popular! Whatever your budget is by creating your own private space can increased focus and productivity!

Here are my Top 5 Tips when planning your dream space:

1. The Space

Think small! Look in those small and awkward spaces around the home that you didn’t know what to do with. For example under the stairs, inside an empty wardrobe or even the end go the hall! Remember think small, all you need is a desk and chair to start with!!

2. No Clutter!

By creating an office/ work space doesn't mean you need all files, bills and paper work. Pack away and store what you don't need and only keep what you actually use on a daily basis!! Keep your desk clear and tidy. The more inviting the space the more you will use it!!

3. The Chair

In my opinion this is the most important part! Invest in a chair that is comfortable yet provides support! This is definitely an investment that will pay off!

4. Lighting

The more natural light the better. If you are restricted to natural light make sure to install any additional lights or lamps to you new space so you do not strain your eyes!

5. No TV

Stay far far away!! Whether you're working from full time or simply organising your personal affairs, try to keep your new space away from obvious distractions like the TV! Try avoid setting space up in the Kitchen or Living room

Remember you don't have to have a huge budget, get creative and use what you have!! For example see below how crates make a great storage solution or make you piece of art  work by creating a mood board with all your favourite things! Here are some of the images that inspired me and as you will see I have a slight obsession with all things white, faux fur and flowers!!

I hope they inspire you guys too!
